The last 15% is where most projects fall apart. We care far more about what you have taken all the way to real users than about what you started.
You write for the next person
Your code, your commits, your notes. If it only makes sense to you, it is not finished. This matters more to us than anything else on the list.
You argue well
You can back up your view, change your mind when someone shows you better evidence, and do both without taking it personally.
You care about the user, not the tools
The technology is just a means to an end. If the right answer is a boring framework and a well-designed database, you are happy to say so.

You send us work
Not a cover letter. Some code, something you launched, or a write-up of something you built and what you would do differently now.
We have a chat
45 minutes. What you have built, what went wrong, what you learned from it. No puzzles, no trick questions.
A small paid task
A realistic problem, close to the work you would actually be doing. We pay your rate, and you do it in your own time.
You meet the team
The people you would be working with. You go through your task together, and you can ask us anything.
We decide
Within a week of that last conversation. If the answer is no, we tell you why.
